Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) seamlessly interconnects sensors (embedded devices) inside and between four distinct domains - the business, telecommunication, automotive and home automation domain. In this paper, Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP)-based web services are directly deployed on the sensor nodes without using any gateways in order to ensure interoperability. This approach provides easy integration with bequest IT systems and supports heterogeneity at the least level.
